What does hope mean? To most people today, it means “maybe.” Perhaps a strong desire. But the word “hope” in the Bible means a bedrock assurance based on the promises of God. This kind of hope is assurance mingled with anticipation. It is not a “blessed maybe” but a “blessed assurance.” How do we know? Because He said so. Our hope has an unshakable promise.
